Our Mission: We build leaders, one child at a time, through excellent teaching for all students in a socially and emotionally safe learning environment.

Our Vision: As a school, we empower students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. Our practice is based on principles of personal, interpersonal, and organizational effectiveness, and upon the powerful premise that every child has genius inside of them and the ability to be a leader. In partnership with the Leader in Me program, Monterey students learn the skills necessary to become self-reliant, take initiative, be considerate of others, find creative solutions, value differences, and live a balanced life. Our students succeed in life, school, and beyond.
